Our waxed bags are made by applying wax to dyed fabric.Initially, the fabric feels crisp and paper-like, but it gradually softens and develops character with use. White creases may appear over time, along with changes in color and texture—these are unique features of waxed fabric.Applying heat melts the wax, reducing the appearance of creases and restoring the fabric’s firmness. You can also leave the creases as they are and enjoy the way the bag changes and develops with age and use.
[ At-Home Care Instructions ]
1. What you will need
Newspaper (to use instead of an ironing board), a cloth to place over the newspaper, your waxed bag, parchment paper, and an iron.
2. Remove any dust from the bag, gently smooth out the creases, and place the bag on top of the cloth-covered newspaper.
3. Set the iron to medium heat.
4. Place a sheet of parchment paper over the bag and gently iron over it.
If using a steam iron, make sure the steam function is turned off.
5. As the wax melts, the fabric will become softer. Once it cools, the fabric will regain its firmness.
6. Continue until you are happy with the appearance and texture.
※ Some wax may transfer to the iron. We recommend using newspaper covered with a white cloth instead of an ironing board to protect the surface underneath.
[ If Your Bag Gets Stained ]
Please avoid using a washing machine, as this may affect the texture and character of the waxed fabric. If the bag becomes stained, gently hand-wash only the affected area using a mild detergent, then allow it to air-dry in the shade.
